Value portrait

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
The process i went through was a little bit confusing, but after a while i started to catch on. At first we got our pictures taken. After our pictures were taken we each chose randomly from the pictures that were taped on the board. Mrs. Rossi showed us that we were to look at the highlights and draw the shapes that each individual shade/highlight was making. After we drew all the shapes made by the shade we transferred it onto paper. Finally we started to shade and, wa-la! Our portraits were finished.
2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
Finding the different values in the portrait was easy at first, but after a while it gets to the part where you have to seek for all the little values. It took a lot of focus and time.
 3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
No, I’m still working on getting the shades in. It looked like it was going to be easy but so far it’s been tricky and hard, plus an eye teaser.
 4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I personally think my self portrait so far isn’t that good. Im still working on improving it, so no, I don’t think it’s been crafted neatly, so far its just a sketch.
 5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
I have overcome wanting to avoid drawing faces. Now I want to learn how to draw them to make them look better.
